Getting your home ready before we arrive helps everything go smoothly and lets us focus our time on what matters most — cleaning your carpets. Here's exactly what to expect and how to prepare, from Stat Carpet Cleaning.

1. Clear the Area

Remove furniture and other items from the carpeted areas ahead of time if you're able — but please don't risk injury moving anything heavy. We're happy to help move small, manageable items when we arrive. Take out anything fragile or valuable beforehand, and make sure there's a clear path for us to move through the space.

2. Walk Through the Space With Us

When we arrive, we'll do a walk-through together before we start. This is your chance to point out specific stains, problem areas, or any pre-existing damage you're already aware of — that way nothing catches either of us by surprise once the work begins.

3. Vacuum If You Have Time

A quick vacuum beforehand removes loose dirt and debris, which helps us get straight to the deep cleaning. Not required, but it helps.

4. Make Sure We Can Get In and Set Up

Please make sure we have easy parking near your home and a clear path to unload our equipment. We'll also need access to water and an electrical outlet during the job.

5. Know What to Expect on Room Sizing

A quick note on how we measure: any single area over 200 square feet counts as two rooms for pricing purposes. If you're not sure how your space breaks down, just ask when you book or when we arrive — we're happy to walk you through it.

6. Plan for Drying Time

Carpets typically take 8–12 hours to fully dry after cleaning. Running fans, air conditioning, or heat, and opening windows if weather allows, all help speed things along. It's worth planning your day around this, especially if you're hosting guests or have a busy household.

7. Keep Pets and Kids Clear of the Work Area

We love pets, but for their safety and to let us work efficiently, please keep pets and children away from the cleaning area while we're working. Let us know ahead of time if you have any specific concerns about the products or equipment we use.

8. Confirm Your Appointment

Double-check your date, time, and the services you've booked. If anything's changed since you scheduled, just give us a call and we'll sort it out.

9. Know How Payment Works

We bill at the completion of the job, not upfront — you'll know the final price before you pay anything. All jobs are subject to our $135 minimum service charge. If you're located more than about 30 minutes from our Louisville base, a small fuel surcharge may apply. For full pricing details, see our FAQ or pricing page.

10. Ask About Aftercare

Once we're done, feel free to ask us about the best way to maintain your carpets between cleanings, or any product recommendations that can help keep them looking their best longer.

A Note From Garry

Stat Carpet Cleaning is a true owner-operated business — when we're at your home, it's me or a small, dedicated team, not a rotating crew of subcontractors. We work on a first-come, first-served basis, so once your appointment's confirmed, it's yours.
